Background Location Explanation
Dazzles is committed to running a trusted, transparent and customer-focused platform. This page explains the standards, rules and processes that support that commitment.
Dazzles may use provider location information, including background location where supported and lawfully permitted, to help the platform operate more reliably for both customers and providers. This page explains the business purpose of that feature and the limits around its use.
1. Why provider location may be needed
Provider location can help Dazzles support dispatch decisions, job assignment, route awareness, customer arrival visibility, service progress and operational accountability. In some cases, location may continue to be processed while the provider app is active in the background where that is necessary to support an ongoing service workflow.
2. When background location is intended to apply
Background location should be limited to operationally relevant periods, such as when a provider is online, available for dispatch, navigating to a customer or actively handling a service request, subject to the app settings, permissions granted by the provider and the platform design in force at the time.
3. What it is not used for
Dazzles does not position provider background location as a tool for unrelated advertising, speculative profiling or unnecessary surveillance. Its intended use is tied to service delivery, coordination, safety, transparency and platform operations.
4. Provider choice and device permissions
Providers remain subject to the permission controls made available by their device operating system and the controls offered within the app. If location permissions are denied or limited, some dispatch, tracking or operational features may not function as intended.
5. Further information
More information about how location data is handled is available in the Privacy Policy and, where relevant, in the provider app permission prompts and onboarding disclosures.
